Environmentalists are pushing lawmakers to form a committee to study the effects of pesticides on children, but lawn care businesses object to the study, saying it would lead to a ban on chemicals important to their work.

    Hello LaVonne,

Thank you for having this feed on your site and including this article. It indicates how little people actually know about practices in the schools when it comes to the applications of chemicals labeled, “poison”. As you can see, the mere suggestion of studying the problem (not banning anything) leads to contentious interactions and fears of harm to industries and consumers everywhere.

A study of any important product/service can only lead to the improvement and long-term stability to the industry which opens itself up to transparency and change in positive directions. Vendors and consumers have common interests. Problems only develop when industry is convinced their sustainability is at odds with the welfare of those using their products.

I testified on behalf of this bill personally and the content of my testimony is posted at my blog (linked here).

    Regards,

Thanks for your comment, Barb. I sincerely hope your important testimony before the New Hampshire legislature gets the attention it deserves, not only there but across the country.
